What I’m Reading Now

I have been slowly plodding my way through the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the books, I have just been dealing with some terrible Series Fatigue which has been holding me back. That, coupled with some fantasy fatigue, has been the only reason I haven’t plowed through the series like lightening. I am loving This Inevitable Ruin despite knowing some spoilers and being worried for some of my favorite characters.

A Rapunzel retelling, I have been making my way through this ARC (courtesy of Edelweiss+) slowly as well, also because of the fantasy fatigue. It’s good so far although I have some reservations about a couple of things in it. But It’s still early on in the book yet and those issues may be resolved!

I first learned about this book on Edelweiss+ but never got approved for an ARC. It was published in conjunction with what would have been (should have been) Marilyn’s 100th birthday. It has been a real treat to get to dive into Marilyn’s literary life.

Once again, fantasy fatigue has been hindering me but I am still really enjoying Spinning Silver. I loved Novik’s Uprooted so much and this is no different. It’s beautifully written and has been surprising me at every turn.

What I Have Finished Reading

I finished this ARC just in time for it’s publication on June 9th (I was approved for it on Edelweiss+ only six days before publication) and man it was a gorgeously written book. For more on it, check out my review here.

What I’m Reading Next

This is just a rough guess based on what deadlines I have coming up for ARCs and what I am currently reading. It could change at any time as I am a mood/whim reader through and through

This will, of course, be one of my next reads once I finish This Inevitable Ruin. I have heard so many amazing things (and unfortunately a couple of spoilers) about this book but I am still so stoked to read it (and to be finally caught up).

I honestly don’t know much about this book but I found it and the sequel at the post library and it looks gorgeous so I thought I would give it a shot. I know I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover BUT it IS an enemies-to-lovers trope, which I do love.

This is another ARC I received on Edelweiss+. It’s due to be published toward the end of July so I have some time to read it but I want to go ahead and get started since I have been such a slow reader lately. I think finishing my degree in lit really got to me, to be honest. I can’t wait to read it though.

I chose Love, Theoretically as the next book I’m going to start simply because it isn’t fantasy and it’s one of the books I found at my library. I have heard great things about Ali Hazelwood. I have a couple of her other books but since this is a library book I’m going to read this one first. I’m excited to read it and have a nice little palatte cleanser.

Finally, I’ll be starting Yesteryear (once the library gets it in) as it is the book my milspouse book club is reading for the month of June. I’m about middle of the road with regard to reading it. On one hand, I’m excited because I know the movie is going to feature Anne Hathaway, whom I love. On the other hand, I have heard mixed reviews and am kinda not looking forward to being in the head of a tradwife when I am so obstensibly not one myself. We’ll see how it goes!

I hope you guys enjoyed my first WWW. Hopefully I’ll have read a bunch by next Wednesday and can give a whole fresh update on what I’m working on. And we’ll see if the What I’m Reading Next has changed or not.
