Happy Wednesday everyone. I hope you all have had a good week of reading. I’m happy to be back and reporting some progress! I’m sorry my post is up so late, I had a lot going on today. So I will hurry on to the reason why you’re here:
This weekly feature was originally hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm but is currently hosted at Taking on a World of Words and asks bloggers to share with the world three things:
What Are You Currently Reading
What Did You Recently Finish Reading
What Do You Think You’ll Read Next
That’s it! Just answer the three Ws and that’s the post! Let’s get started!
What I Have Finished Reading

Vampires of El Norte was such an amazing novel and another major win from Isabel Cañas. I loved her writing and descriptions so much. And the way she crafted and placed the vampires in her story was so satisfying and realistic. Just another fantastic read and one that has cemented her as a major favorite for me.

I finally finished my ACOMAF reread and enjoyed it a lot more than the first one upon rereading. But I think that is just because it is my favorite of the original trilogy to begin with. I enjoyed being back in Prythian much more this time around and have already jumped into the third book. I will not be finished with the books by the time the new one comes out because I still have to read the Crescent City books, but I’m one step closer!

I wanted a little palate cleanser between ACOTAR books in the form of a RomCom but didn’t necessarily want to commit to another book that wasn’t fantasy at the moment so I found a short story that I had and enjoyed it. It was predictable but still really cute and provided a nice step out of fantasy for a brief moment before diving right back in.
What I Am Currently Reading

I have made a little progress in this book but am taking it slow because I am annotating as I read. I unfortunately had to stop mid paragraph and chapter because my sharpies died and I use sharpies heavily (thus why multiples died at once) and I was not at home. By the time I got home I had other things to deal with so I have not jumped back in but plan on doing so tomorrow. I’m really enjoying the book and the magical realism it has. García Márquez does such a wonderful job at the magical realism, it really is a treat to see how his mind spools and spins the story.

I haven’t made any progress on this book but neither have I really tried because I have been so wrapped up in reading other things. I do still plan on finishing it though. Galeano has a really pretty way of describing historical events that really piques my interest so I will definitely be finishing it.

No progress on this book, also because I haven’t tried. I have read some good reviews of it so hopefully I shake off my funk with the book and surge forward soon!

I finished ACOMAF yesterday and leapt into ACOWAR today and I’m already making some headway although I still have MILES to go. But I’m enjoying it.
What I Am Reading Next

After finishing Vampires of El Norte I am super excited to read this book. I cannot wait to get back into Cañas’s head.

Nothing has changed on my excitement to read this book. I almost started it last night instead of waiting but I wanted to make a little more headway on the ACOTAR books first. So, soon.

I borrowed this from my local library this evening so you know I’m gearing up to read it. I have the audiobook as well but I want to immersively read it like I did for the first one.

I’m not sure when or if I will get to this one now that Hispanic Heritage Month is almost over and I’mm be focusing on a few other things but I own it so it will always be ready for me. But I’m still counting it as a next book just in case. It should be a fairly quick read anyway.
Annnnnnnd that’s all folks! I hope everyone has a wonderful week reading. See you next Wednesday!
