Banned Books Week 2015 and Other News

Hello and happy Monday my fellow bookworms! I hope I haven’t lost you all during my inexcusable hiatus. While I did get a new full-time job and Mr. Wench finally decided he liked it enough to put a ring on it (cue cheesy grins and awkward dancing), there is no excuse for my absence. But I am back….with a vengeance…a particularly nonviolent vengeance…but a vengeance all the same!

Oh, and because I didn’t get the chance to post this on my personal page, here is a Tolkienian Fun:

Anyway, enough messing around. On to the news!

First of all, I hope everyone has enjoyed the most recent book review I posted last night.  Please, dear readers, feel free to leave comments and tell me what you think of the reviews!

Second, Banned Books Week starts at the end of this month. For the entirety of the week, I’ll be posting various facts about the Banned Books culture and background as well as highlight my personal favorite banned books. As I love to help my fellow readers and book bloggers, I invite any other blogger who is planning on doing something for Banned Books week (essay, reading, collage, video, etc) let me know so I can highlight it here and link it to you so you can have extra press! (Everything will be contributed to the creator, of course!) if you have any questions about this Banned Books “project” you can find my email on the About page.

Third, two highly-awaited books come out later this month. Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs on September 22nd (and I shall be reviewing the first two books in the trilogy a few days beforehand in a joint review). The second highly-anticipated book is After You by Jojo Moyes, sequel to the book I just reviewed. It will be coming out on September 29th. You can expect those reviews shortly after their respective releases.

Fourth, the movie adaptation of James Dashner’s The Scorch Trials comes to theaters on September 9th. During my hiatus I watch the first film and enjoyed it, though I still prefer the book. I shall definitely go see it on the big screen though.

Fifth, and finally, as many of you may know, Pottermore announced that the last House Cup will be rewarded in just a few short days, on September 9th. After that, Pottermore insiders concede that there will be some major changes to Pottermore as we know it. While some are expressly and vehemently against the change, I am quite looking forward to a new experience and a chance to learn more about this most amazing world. Cheers to J.K. Rowling and the Pottermore team; all will be well!

My goal is to become more present on this blog, so I am glad to have my current followers here, despite the rocky start.

Until later, bookworms. Happy reading!
