Silly Senior Superlatives – Book Tag Edition

Okay, so for those of us who went to public or private school in the States, we’re all pretty familiar with the concept of silly superlatives. For everyone who isn’t familiar (or those that need refreshing – let’s face it: high school was a long time ago for some of us), let me explain.

Every year the high school yearbook committee puts out a yearbook going over that year’s highlights (and sometimes highlights from the previous year) as well as photos and shoutouts to that year’s senior class. Some yearbooks had what is called silly superlatives which is basically a list of things like “most likely to succeed,” “most likely to take over the world,” and, my personal favorite, “most likely to go to clown school.” After all these, a photo of a male and female student that best exemplifies the particular superlative (usually the entire class votes on it) will be shown.

Well I was thinking about this today (no idea why, I just have random thoughts sometimes) and it hit me that it would make a fun book tag. I haven’t seen it before so I thought I’d create it! It’s my first tag, so please go easy on me!

Now here are the rules:

1: Thank the person that tagged you and link back to their post. All link to me (thebookwench.com) if possible. Since this is my first tag, I’d like to see how far it goes!

2: Fill out the superlatives with a male and female of your choice (please do not be afraid to add non-binary or other gendered characters if they fit, we love all sorts here!) You can reuse a character a few times, but try to go for variety if possible.

3: Here’s the catch – You can only use books you have read in 2017. If you’re anything like me, you may be inclined to use a bunch of characters from your favorite books (Ron Weasley would so ace clown school). If this tag becomes popular and runs through the next year, use 2017 books through the early months of 2018 unless you feel like you’ve read enough to make it work!)

4: Tag 6-10 people to do the tag. If anyone sees this and wants to do it, consider yourself tagged!

5: Have fun! Whether you’re serious or silly, this tag is meant to be fun! And please don’t hate on other people’s choices. NOTE: Please try to keep this spoiler-free!

  1. I didn’t know the first character in this tag, but I recently picked up the first book in Sarah J. Maas “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series, so when I get around to it I will have a better idea who many of them are. I have been meaning to read The Lunar books, but haven’t gotten around to it either. I hear good things.

  3. OMG this looks like an amazing tag! I’m definitely going to be jumping aboard this tag and do it in the near future. Also, I have VERY strong feelings on number 7. Elain and Azriel need to happen and if one of the ACOTAR novels/novellas isn’t about them, then I will cry and melt and hopefully disappear because I desperately want them to have a happily ever after together.
