A new month, a new week, a new theme!
Today’s Top 5 Wednesday (T5W) is all about current favorites…that aren’t books!
In case you aren’t familiar with T5W, it’s this great community on Goodreads created by Youtube book blogger Gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam of Thoughts on Tomes. Every month group members are given topics for every Wednesday of that month to discuss on their respective platforms (blog, vlog, etc).
Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from books and talk about some other things you’ve been obsessed with. These all don’t have to be in the same category. Mix it up! What TV shows have you been enjoying, makeup you’ve been wearing, food you’ve been eating, etc.??
Fan-fiction Pairing – Dramione
I am a sucker for a good, well-written fan-fiction staring Draco and Hermione. Dramione has been my One True Pairing (OTP) for over ten years now and I can safely say that it will likely never change. If you’ve never read any Dramione, I’d highly suggest it. If you, like me, are Dramione fans, what are your favorite Dramione fics?
Band/Musical Artist – Queen
I have loved Queen for many many years. I remember belting out all the words to their songs when I was still in elementary school (so at least 20 years ago). Now, there are your traditional favorite songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and We Are the Champions, but I love other great songs such as Somebody to Love and You’re My Best Friend.
Cookies – Thin Mints
It IS Girl Scout cookie season, after all. I doubt this needs clarification, but Thin Mints are the best.
Video Game – Halo/Skyrim
This was difficult to choose between so I’m just going to list both because I can. Ha! I have been playing Halo for years, since its initial release almost. I have had dreams about being a Spartan fighting against the Covenant. One of my best friends used to write stories featuring us (as Spartan warriors) kicking Covenant ass.
Skyrim on the other hand is a new favorite (and by new I mean I started playing early last years). I was a huge fan of Fable and this seems to be like Fable on steroids (even though they are really very quite similar – almost freakishly so. I love being able to run around and fight dragons. Any other Skyrim fans out there?
Movie – Love Actually
Another long-time favorite. I was 14 when I first saw this movie. I wanted to watch it because I was (and still am) a massive British-anything enthusiast and because so many Harry Potter actors are in it. Now I am just enamored with all of the different instances of love and relationships. It’s a movie I watch multiple times every year (several of these times my husband will even join me in watching it) with the obligatory Christmas-Season viewing. If you like England, romance, wit, and Alan Rickman, check it out.
