The Birthday Book Mystery

Hello friends and fellow bookworms!

This is a bit of a random post sparked by a random encounter during one of my random nightly visits to Barnes and Noble.

I went after work to do a little research for a Beauty and the Beast-themed post I am planning. While I was at the customer service counter looking for an original version of the story for my research, I overheard an exchange between a woman and one of the staff members. It was her 21st birthday and she asked if they could help her figure out the title of a book that she read about a decade ago. She had been searching for a while and figure it was time to bring in some reinforcements.

Now, as a bit of background, I’d like to explain that I spend a lot of free time on Reddit’s “whatsthatbook” sub, helping others figure out long-lost books. Sometimes I manage to help, other times not, but it’s always fun to be a part of the search.

That said, I knew I wanted to help her find her book.

After discussing as much of the book she could remember (while I and three staff members searched online) we weren’t able to locate it.

I am dying to figure out what this book is.

I will keep the blog updated if I find it, or if I need to enlist your help!

Just thought this would be a fun encounter to share with my bookish followers.

Happy reading (and wish me luck)!

PS: I’m not putting any clues on this post at this time because I want to see if I can find it on my own. This is going to be a personal challenge.

  1. Hi guys! I’m the birthday girl in search of the book. I know that the Book Wench doesn’t want to reveal anything about the plot so I won’t but I just wanted to take a second to take her and all of her subscribers for being so supportive
